About the Project

Hola América seeks to strengthen the social innovation ecosystem with a focus on solving challenges of migrant and refugee communities, therefore, we have developed an interactive map as a tool of knowledge of this ecosystem.

About the Map

We have witnessed a great wave of migration in Latin America and a considerable flow of migrants and refugees in the continent. We also realized that many countries are not prepared to face this phenomenon. Therefore, we believe it is important to know and understand the organizations, institutions and innovations that are facing these challenges.

The purpose of the map

• Visualize the organizations and social innovations that are addressing the challenges faced by migrant and refugee communities.

• To make visible and represent the social innovation ecosystem in order to highlight the challenges to be addressed in a systemic and multisectoral manner.

• To show the importance of connections between different organizations and the strengthening of ecosystems that this entails.

• To understand, analyze and take the first steps to create a network of actors around innovation for migrant and refugee communities.

• Create a strengthened ecosystem that welcomes migrants and refugees in a manner that is inclusive, inclusive and free of discrimination.

• Provide information on the challenges that remain to be explored and where it is important to start innovating.

• Information medium for migrants and refugees who need support upon arrival in their new country of destination.

The information is divided according to countries and shows all the connections between them and their relationship to the challenges.

Challenges

After analyzing and researching the problems faced by migrant and refugee communities upon arrival in the new country, we conducted a survey of themain challenges . On that basis, we looked for all the organizations, social innovations and institutions that are working to solve them.

You will find all the contact information of the different  organizations, institutions and social innovations working to solve the challenges of migrant and refugee communities. Also contact information for each one, to understand how they work and/or to communicate with them.

Purpose

The idea of this mapping is to visualize the ecosystem of migration and refugee communities worldwide. In order to achieve this, the participation of everyone is very important. Our call is to take part, educate and communicate the importance of the connections and synergies generated by a robust mapping, capable of providing clear and concrete information about what we are generating in migration issues and who are the relevant actors in this area.
